We're supporting Park Farm Pumas to coaching excellence
A coaching programme run by Peterborough amateur football Club, Park Farm Pumas, and sponsored by us has now run over 300 individual training courses and introduced new coaches into the club year on year.
The ten year sponsorship programme is now in its fourth year and has enabled the club to go from strength to strength. It now has over 30 teams and close to 2,000 members and is an important cornerstone of the local community.
Our funding has enabled the club to deliver a FA governed training programme for volunteers, usually parents of young players, to deliver coaching sessions throughout the season. The courses include safeguarding children, introduction to football (level1), emergency first aid, CPR, concussion protocol training and player welfare. The partnership has enabled the continued growth of the community club alongside while providing a safe and controlled environment with adherence to the strict safeguarding governance of the Football Association.
The plans for the future include exploring the next level of FA coaching excellence which will allow the club to build on its recent success in county and league cups and divisional titles.
Club Chairman and lead coach, Ciaran McAuley said: “Coaching at this level for a grassroots club is almost unheard of. Through this continued partnership with CKH we have not only been able to provide participation and fun football at all ages but we have also been able to offer a vehicle to those players who seek to pursue a higher level of competition in the game. We have now also created adult men's teams to enable players to have a continued pathway from their youth football into the adult game while still maintaining the great relationships they have built with their friends and the club through the years.
“I can’t thank CKH enough for the ongoing support of Park Farm Pumas. The sponsorship and partnering of our coaches training programme has become an invaluable success and pivotal to our continued growth ambitions. Together we will continue to drive the club forward to be the premier provider of community based football in the wider Peterborough area.”
Our Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “Park Farm Pumas encapsulates everything that is great about community sports. It brings together people from all ages and backgrounds and supports them to enjoy and excel at sport. At CKH we know the importance of this in bringing people together, in turn improving their mental health and equipping them with skills that can help them get into work and succeed in life.
“We are delighted that our contribution will continue to support more coaches to be trained and in turn enable more young people to enjoy football. We wish the club the very best of luck with all their respective cups and leagues.”
