We did: we are now able to provide you with digital badges to validate your skills, knowledge and abilities that you can add to your CV, social media and show to prospective employers. Ask us for more information when you join a course.

Careers Clubs

Our Careers Clubs can help you to learn the skills you need to get into work, whether you are looking to get your first job, move to a new role, return to work after a long time or get back into work after a redundancy, we can give you tailored support to get the job you want. We can help with CV writing, applications and interview skills as well as finding opportunities to begin with.

Our Careers Clubs run in person:

Bretton Library, The Cresset. Monthly, 11am-1pm. 

Hampton Library, Clayburn Road, second Monday of every month, 2.30pm - 4.30pm

Orton Library, Bushfield, every Tuesday, 9.30am –11.30am

Westwood Community Hub, every Thursday, 10.00am –12.00pm

Ad-hoc one to one meetings to discuss career plans and get support to achieve them can also be arranged at Customer Central in Bridge Street, Peterborough. Please contact us to arrange a time.

Places are limited, and must be booked in advance.

Job seekers toolkit

Improve your chances of getting a job. Join every session or just the ones you need to grow your skills. Each session is based on feedback from employers and job seekers to help you to find work.

Employment support for parents

If you are a parent and looking to return to work or upskill, we can help you. Our sessions will give you everything you need to find and apply for work and succeed in interviews.

We’ll also help you to:

  • Build your confidence.
  • Look at options for childcare.
  • Find roles that fit around your family.
  • You can even bring your child to the sessions.

Mentoring support

We're working with local consultancy business, Paydata, to provide you with support to gain the skills you need to progress your career, and improve your family's prospects.

With our support you'll  identify your goals and the skills you need to achieve them. We'll also provide two years targeted, one to one mentoring support to help you on the right road for a brighter future. Our support will enable you to build their confidence, attend training and in turn progress in your career. We can even help to fund any training you decide to do!

Nene Park Ranger experience

Do you enjoy spending time outdoors in nature or have a passion for horticulture? Perhaps you feel a bit low on confidence and are looking to enhance your communication skills?

Immerse yourself in the world of a Park Ranger and learn skills like:

  • Coppicing trees
  • Maintaining and caring for tools
  • Planting trees
  • Woodwork
  • Conducting reptile surveys

The course will run for ten weeks across a number of different sites in Peterborough, working with the Nene Park Trust and Froglife. We can support you with travel costs if you need it and all safety equipment will be provided.

Starting 11 February and running every Tuesday, between 1pm and 3:30pm, for ten weeks. You will need to attend every session to pass.

You must be aged between 18 and 24 years old and not currently in education, employment and training.
