We are celebrating a Housing with Care Awards win

We are celebrating our employees being recognised in prestigious national awards.

Communities Activities Support Co-Ordinator, Ac Lloyd-Williams, won the Integrated Retirement Community Hero Award in the inaugural Housing with Care Awards. Ac won the award for his work rolling out the Learn My Way digital skills training into our retirement housing community, to help older residents to access the internet and stay connected.

The judges said of Ac: “Ac enables the elderly residents he supports to connect online. He empowers them to grow their confidence in using technology and to use digital tools to nurture friendships and connections. He is a true integrated retirement community hero, and much deserving of this award.”

Catherine Jenner, Housekeeper at our extra care community Kingfisher Court, was highly commended in the Housekeeper category, with the judges saying: “Catherine really cares about doing a great job and goes above and beyond in her role to ensure she spends time with the residents alongside her normal duties. This is really admirable and she obviously makes a fantastic impression and is well thought of by the people her service supports!”

Also recognised at the awards was CKH’s Director of Operations, Mary Bryce. Mary has a long and distinguished career in the care sector and was instrumental in proposing the new Housing with Care awards, which recognises the incredible work done by so many people across the sector. The awards not only recognise the organisations, but the exceptional people who work so hard to support older people and those with disabilities or mental health challenges. The awards really celebrate the unsung heroes, including care workers, housekeepers and gardeners.

Claire Higgins, our Chief Executive, said of the award success: “I am immensely proud of the recognition of Mary and the achievements of Ac, Catherine and indeed all the employees who work across our community care, extra care and retirement housing services.

“Cross Keys Care is dedicated to excellence in all we do, and it is fantastic to have this commitment recognised. We are in a very special position, as both a housing and care provider, to be able to use our years of experience in both areas to build the very highest quality communities for older people that deliver the individually designed care and support they need when they need it.”
