We've joined with developers Burmor Construction to lay the first brick on a new development of affordable housing in Crowland.

The development, at Low Road, will see 30 new homes built – a combination of 22 houses and eight apartments. Fourteen of the homes will be for affordable rent, while 16 will be available to buy through shared ownership.

The development is on land owned by us and has been supported by £1.2m of funding from Homes England.

Claire Higgins, our Chief Executive, said: “People living in rural communities like this really need affordable options when it comes to finding a home for their future. We know the demand for affordable homes to both rent and buy is so high in our region, and we are determined to do as much as we can to meet that need with our extensive development programme.

“We hope this development in Crowland will help to give more people the option to stay in the place they love, close to friends and family.”

Patrick Burke, Director at Burmor, said: “Burmor Construction are delighted to be partnering again with Cross Keys Homes on this project to deliver a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent properties in Crowland. Works commenced back in January 2023 with stripping the site of vegetation and installing the drainage, roads, and foundations, and we are thrilled to have achieved this “first brick” milestone on time in line with our programme of works. We are currently working towards completing the road and starting on building the new units, which are to be of traditional construction with a mixture of face brickwork and render finishes, complete with feature band courses, brick arches and reconstituted stone sills. The project is due for completion in late 2024, and we are excited to deliver these high-quality units for such a highly regarded client.”
