We've received an illuminating donation!
We recently received a generous donation of 5,000 smart lightbulbs from Peterborough based fund and grant administrators, Charis.
The ingenious bulbs not only light a room as normal, but also retain a charge, so in the event of a power cut they will provide light for up to 4 more hours – all while being fantastically energy efficient. We will now distribute these to older residents and those who may be vulnerable in the event of a network power cut.
Our Assistant Director of Operations, Gemma Wood, said, “We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation from Charis. Power cuts can be really frightening times for people, and can often lead to trips and falls in the dark. These bulbs will provide people with additional peace of mind and safety in their home.”
Sam Lord, Facilities and Compliance Manager at Charis, said: “We are delighted to be able to help out some of the residents of CKH with these bulbs. They offer just that extra little bit of security to people who are likely to struggle in the event of a power cut, and it’s just great that CKH are able to help us in getting them out to the people who need them most.”
