CKH residents can access affordable savings and loan facilities with Leeds Credit Union

We are working with Leeds Credit Union to help residents manage their finances with support from a Credit Union.

Leeds Credit Union is a not-for-profit, financial co-operative owned and run by its members providing an alternative to banks, building societies and high interest lenders. They are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and are particularly helpful to those who may be unable to access traditional banking facilities.

With many households experiencing growing financial pressues, given the recent cost of living rises, CKH was keen to increase the number of financial options available to residents and chose Leeds Credit Union given their established experience of working with many other housing associations across the country. While the Credit Union is based in Leeds, all their services will be available to CKH residents online, via their app and over the phone, which given our geographical spread will ensure all residents can benefit from being a member.

CKH Director of Operations, Mary Bryce, said: “We are committed to providing opportunities which help our communities to improve their circumstances and are delighted to now be able to offer residents access to a Credit Union service.

“Our working arrangement with Leeds Credit Union will help provide CKH residents with financial choices by offering a range of affordable, trusted financial products to help encourage savings and budgeting as well as tackle the issue of high-cost credit.”

Leeds Credit Union products include a membership account, regular savings account, Christmas club account and young saver account as well as access to loan facilities. The credit union prides itself on providing members with the most appropriate services based on their own individual circumstances.

Maya Friend, Business Relationship Manager at Leeds Credit Union, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Cross Keys Homes and look forward to providing Cross Keys Homes’ residents with a range of services tailored to meet their needs.”

CKH residents can join Leeds Credit Union by completing an application online by visiting www.leedscreditunion.co.uk/ckh or by calling 0113 242 3343 to request one by post. Once registered, residents will have access to the many savings and loan services they offer.
