We're Tpas award finalists!
We're celebrating after our life enhancing employment support programme has been shortlisted in one of the most prestigious awards in the housing sector, the Tpas Awards.
We fought off tough competition to be announced as a finalist in the ‘Excellence in Employment Skills and Training - Landlord’ category, in the national awards.
Our employability skills training provision includes our own Careers Club, that is offered online through our e-learning platform , and in person at our community hubs in Peterborough. And with specific programmes for school leavers and those reskilling for better opportunities, we really does have something to offer everyone.
We also lead the city wide consortium of employment support providers, Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough (TWIP) , bringing together all organisations that offer training and support for people of all ages.
Our Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “At CKH we have always been passionate about supporting people into work, and to be recognised by a national organisation, such as Tpas, for our work is a huge honour. We know that gaining meaningful employment is about so much more than just the financial benefits for an individual. It increases confidence and pride, and gives people an increasing sense of self belief, as well as having positive effects on society as a whole.
“This last year has been challenging for our teams to continue their hard work supporting an increasing number of people who are reaching out for help. But they continued their careers support virtually, and have developed a fantastic online platform for people to get the support they need, whilst staying safe.”
The Tpas Awards showcase the compelling and inspirational success stories of tenants, landlords and contractors working together across the communities of England. They celebrate the people, ideas and organisations that shape the tenant involvement work of tomorrow. The winners will be announced at an online ceremony in October.
